Probenecid and colchicine
Drug Class: Uric acid (Uricosuric) Brand Names: Generic only
Dosages
One pill (500 mg probenecid and 0.5 mg colchicine) twice a day.
Potential Side Effects
Anemia; diarrhea; dizziness; fever; flushing; headache; loss of appetite; itching; increase in urination; nausea; rash; sore gums; stomach pain; vomiting.
Special Instructions
- Do not drink alcohol when taking this medication.
- Do not take with aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication.
- Take with food or an antacid.
