Osteoarthritis Clinical Trial Network Partners

Meet the valued partners to the OA-CTN. These stakeholder organizations are part of the clinical research ecosystem stewarded by the Arthritis Foundation

Cleveland Clinic is home to members Xiaojuan Li, PhD, Kurt Spindler, MD, and Morgan Jones, MD.  Dr. Li was principal investigator to the OA-CTN project: “Multi-Site, Multi-Vendor Cross-Validation of Cartilage T1RHO and T2 Magnetic Resonance Imaging”.  Dr. Spindler is the founder of the Multi-center Orthopaedic Outcomes Network (MOON) Study.  Dr. Jones is the principal investigator of the OA-CTN project: “Injection after arthroscopic partial meniscectomy”.
UCSF is home to members Sharmila Majumdar, PhD and Drew Lansdown, MD.  Drs. Majumdar and Lansdown were investigators to a previous OA-CTN project.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill houses members Brian Pietrosimone, PhD and Jeffrey Spang, MD.  Drs. Pietrosimone and Marsh are investigators to the new OA-CTN project: “Biomechanical Changes Following ACL Injury that Influence PTOA”.
Duke University is home to members Virginia Byers-Kraus, MD, PhD and Brian Lau, MD.  Dr. Kraus was principal investigator to over five Arthritis Foundation research projects.
University of Iowa houses members Don Anderson, PhD and Lawrence Marsh, MD.  Drs. Anderson and Marsh are investigators to the new OA-CTN project: “3D Joint Space Width from Weight Bearing CT as an Imaging Biomarker of PTOA”.
University of Kentucky is home to members Cale Jacobs, PhD and Austin Stone, MD.  Drs. Jacobs and Stone are investigators to a OA-CTN pilot project for a randomized, placebo-controlled trial that specifically targets older ACL reconstruction patients with concomitant meniscal injuries--a group at greatest risk of rapid PTOA progression.
The University of Washington serves as an extended network site to the “3D Joint Space Width from Weight Bearing CT as an Imaging Biomarker of PTOA” project.
