Bringing the Patient Voice to the Forefront of the Arthritis Foundation
Have you ever thought about volunteering with the Arthritis Foundation but you’re not sure how? Do you have arthritis (or care for a loved one with arthritis) and important insights to share? We are forming a new, patient-only group that may be just what you are looking for!
The patient voice is critical in all that we do. We are here to meet the need of people with arthritis, so who better to tell us your needs than you? This is one of the reasons we created the new Patient Leadership Council (PLC), so we can hear directly from you and infuse the patient voice into our work even further.
We’re looking for applicants from across the nation, and most meetings will be held virtually (conference call or webinar). The group will convene at least once a year in-person. They will advise the Foundation and provide recommendations on a number of projects and efforts. These recommendations will help us to refine our efforts toward meaningful patient engagement
To create a well-rounded PLC, we are seeking a wide range of applicants. There is no “right” candidate – we are looking for diversity in experience and insight. Our criteria are minimal:
Application selection will be based on experience, background, ability to contribute to the scope of work, and a prospective member’s commitment to advancing the mission and goals of the Arthritis Foundation.
For more information and to apply for the Patient Leadership Council today visit our website. Space is limited and applications must be received by March 8, 2017. We can’t wait to hear from you!
