Patient Involvement & Research Roles

We believe patients benefit from being active participants in research, healthcare projects, and other initiatives to improve the system that serves them. Patient engagement with the Arthritis Foundation involves a variety of opportunities to use your voice and experience to inform the future of arthritis.

Patient Engagement Partners - Patient partners may choose to be involved in a number of patient engagement projects and opportunities, or just one. The opportunities may be internal for the Foundation, or external, in conjunction with our partners.

Example of opportunities in patient engagement:
  • Focus Groups
  • Grant Reviewers
  • Research & Trial Design Feedback
  • Patient Advisory Councils
  • Storytelling (media, interviews, public speaking, blog posts)
Patient Voice Panel - The Foundation's online survey panel provides an opportunity for people with arthritis to share their voice and experience by taking periodic surveys on topics of importance. Insights gleaned from these surveys help inform our advocacy agenda, patient education programming and content creation, all aimed at helping people live better with arthritis. In addition, Patient Voice Panel members may be invited to complete screener surveys to be considered for paid focus groups, in-depth interviews, or other projects with our partners. You have the option during sign-up to select the activities of interest to you.
