Walk to Cure Arthritis – The Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide signature event unites communities across the country to put an end to arthritis.

Jingle Bell Run – This national wintertime event is the original festive race for charity!

Gala or other Special Event Committee – These vary by Market location.

Do It Yourself Fundraising – Fundraise your way! Whether it’s biking across the country, selling lemonade or hosting a game night, you can start your own fundraiser and champion the fight to conquer arthritis in your community - anywhere, anytime.

Community Event volunteer roles include:

Event Chair – Serve as an event leader by recruiting and managing the event committee. Work in partnership with other dedicated committee members and a staff partner to create a plan of action to ensure the success of your event.

Sponsorship Chair/Committee – Work with the Event Chair and committee to develop a list of sponsor prospects and make requests. Ask the previous year’s sponsors to resecure their commitment. Work with the Event Chair to customize the sponsorship packet for your event.

Marketing & PR Chair/Committee – Ensure the event receives maximum visibility in the community through social media and enhance advertising and recruiting efforts.

Warrior Engagement Chair – Lead the Warrior Engagement Committee. Create and implement engagement strategies with arthritis warriors and their supporters. Through engaging outreach and activities, including interactive day-of-event activities, help people with arthritis and their families connect with others, find resources and enjoy the event experience.

Event Experience Chair – Create a memorable experience for arthritis warriors and all participants. Facilitate connections with other volunteers, create a moving experience and ensure that every warrior is stronger for attending the event. Event Experience goes beyond the event itself; it ensures the experience is positive from kickoff to completion.

Team Recruitment & Development Committee – Work with the Event Chair to develop a team recruitment and retention action plan. Secure new teams from the action plan and educate them on the best practices of fundraising. Be the point of contact for team captains, coach them to success and ensure they have a positive, memorable experience.

Fundraising Champion - Create awareness, inspire others, share your fundraising tips and tricks, and network with other Foundation supporters and warriors from across the country.  Past fundraising experience or active participation recommended.
