Arthritis Walk
The Event
The Arthritis WalkSM is the Arthritis Foundation's nationwide team event that raises funds to fight arthritis and related diseases. Join the team for a cure! Help the Arthritis Foundation take steps toward fighting arthritis, America's number one cause of disability. The Arthritis Walk has a "team" focus to encourage people to motivate and inspire each other to walk for wellness and health!
The Arthritis Walk is a non-competitive, 5K course with a one-mile walk option. Many of the Greater Illinois Walk Events feature exhibitors booths with information, education and samples, arthritis wellness and information areas, walk warm ups, Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program demonstrations, awards presentations, door prizes and refreshments. When you join a team, you are helping yourself by including walking as part of your healthy lifestyle, and helping others by raising money to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases.
It's easy! The Arthritis Foundation will provide all the materials necessary to have a successful fund-raising team!
The Cause
The Arthritis Foundation is the only national, voluntary health organization that works to prevent, control and cure the sixty six million Americans affected by arthritis and related diseases such as fibromyalgia, lupus and osteoporosis. Locally, the Greater Illinois Chapter supports much needed research and quality of life programs such as Arthritis Foundation Aquatic, Exercise and Tai Chi Programs and our Juvenile Arthritis Clinic.
